Location

The beach is located on the southern side of the Shaw Island, in the San Juan county of Washington state, USA. It is located on the shore of San Juan Channel.

Tourist attractions

The Green Bank Beach is not a popular beach with tourists and receives few visitors. Some die hard sun bathers and sailors can be seen relaxing at the beach during the summer months. The activities that one can enjoy here are boating, fishing, and swimming. Those golf enthusiasts who do not want to miss out on their golf activities can enjoy playing golf on the neighboring island of Orcas. Since the tourists visiting the beach are few, one can have a free run of the beach.

The other interesting places that one can visit while touring the Shaw Island beaches are the Entrance Mountain, the Olga Marine State Park, and the Diamond Point. Another big water body lying nearby is called the Cascade Lake Dam with East Sound being one of the nearby attractions.

The other beaches nearby are the North Beach, White Beach, South Beach, Chin-Chin-Tse-Tung Beach, and the Crescent Beach.  The various national parks nearby are the Olympic National Park, Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and the North Cascades National Park.

Best period to visit

The most suited time to visit the beach is the month of July.

Access

One can land at the airport at the Orcas Island and then cross the Harney Channel through ferry into the Shaw Island. One can reach the beach by following the Blind Bay Road and the Hoffman Cove Road.
