Location

The Northilla Beach is located near the southern end of the Puget Sound just outside Tacoma, and lies on the coastline of the King County, in the state of Washington, USA.

Tourist attractions

The vast expanse of glittering waters of the Puget Sound is inviting to one’s eyes during summer. This sight tempts one to enjoy a swim in the open water. One can roam far on a boat and simultaneously enjoy fishing in the water during summer. Rowing is also a nice way to enjoy the water though one may not find many people here with this in mind. But the best thing would be to sit and watch the waves breaking on the shore of this King County Beach. This beach is also a place to relax and meet other people from the nearby areas. Those who come here are mainly the residents of Tacoma, and also from Bellevue. Some visitors also come from Seattle.

The nearby beach that one can tour is the Caledonia Beach. Since the City of Tacoma lies nearby, one can enjoy the comforts of city life as well as enjoy the beach. There are many golf courses nearby. These are the North Shore Golf Course, Allenmore Public Golf Course, Highlands Golf Course, Pacific Lutheran University PLU Golf Course, and the Pierce County Parks-Recreation Fort Steilacoom Golf Course.

The other places that one can opt for are the Quartermaster Harbor, the great view point called the Browns Point, and another view point called the Dash Point. Some of the nearby nature parks are the Dash Point State Park, Puget Gardens Park, Garfield Park, Wright Par, and the Point Defiance Park. The Point Defiance Park also has an interesting place called the Fort Nisqually.

Best period to visit

The beaches in this region are best visited during the month of July.

Access

One can easily access the beach from Tacoma. US Highway 5 brings one to Tacoma. From here on you will have to take the Schuster Pky which extends into N Ruston Way that skirts the beach till Ruston.
