Location

The beach is located on the shores of the Lake Sammamish beside the Lake Washington in the King County of Washington State, USA. The Lake Sammamish is smaller than the Lake Washington, and it is located on the east a few miles away from it. Bellevue, a popular place lies in between these two lakes.

Tourist attractions

Though the beach is located on the shores of the Sammamish Lake, it is a nice place to be as the calm water of the lake wash ashore presenting an exciting prospect for swimming. One may also try to wade further in the water on a boat. Those who row might enjoy a ride on the waves of this lake. The area is a dreamland for hikers as it is surrounded by parks and lakes.

On a holiday and on weekends one may come across people from Bellevue resting on the shores of the lake. During summer one may come across larger crowds. Though not as popular as the sea shore beaches on the south and the popular ones on the Washington Coast, the beach is a good place to find hikers who roam the region in search of natural beauty. One may even come across a few sunbathers here.

Some of the interesting places one can see while touring the region are the Ebright Creek that flows some distance from here, the Weber Point, and also the Sulphur Springs Point which is a must see for adventure seekers. One may also wish to see the Sammamish Valley while at the beach. There are also some rivers flowing near the lake. These are the Cedar River and the Raging River, which are a good option if one is interested in paddling. The other rivers are the Duwamish River, the Green River, and the Tolt River.

There are many parks near the beach. These are the Tam Oshanter Golf and Country Club, Tam Oshanter Park, Keeney Neighborhood Park, Viewpoint Park, Ardmore Park, Ivanhoe Neighborhood Park, Hillaire Neighborhood Park, Weowna Beach Park, Lake Hills Greenbelt Park, Lake Hills Community Park, Robinswood Community Park, Spiritridge Park, Marymoor Park, Lake Sammamish State Park, Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, and the Maycreek Park.

If one is interested in golf then one can try the courses at Brae Burn Golf and Country Club, Tam Oshanter Golf and Country Club, Crossroads Golf Roads, Sahalee Country Club, and the Golf Club at Newcastle.

Best period to visit

Like the other beaches of the region one will be able to enjoy this beach the best during the month of July.

Access

The US Highway 405 runs parallel along the shore of the Lake Washington. At Midlakes just beside the railway tracks one may exit the highway onto the NE 8th St., and travel eastwards to the shores of Lake Sammamish. This street joins the Northup Way, which takes one onto route 901 also known as the W Lake Sammamish Pky NE.

The major airports of the region are located beside the Lake Washington.  These are, the Boeing International Airport, Seattle – Tacoma International Airport, and the Renton Municipal Airport.
