Location

The North Beach is located on the Samish Island near the border with Skagit County lying south of Samish Bay, and is a part of the San Juan County Coastline in the state of Washington, USA.

Tourist attractions

This beach is ideally situated for enjoying water activities, but as it is surrounded by major islands and other well known beaches, it is less frequented by tourists visiting the region. Swimming just off the beach is a good recreation activity. With a boat, one can explore the surrounding water if one has the right experience and equipment. If one is interested in knowing the fish varieties of the area, then one can try fishing. To relax one can stretch oneself on the beach and let the sound of waves soothe one’s tired nerves.
There are other interesting places to explore if one is visiting this beach. These are the Point Doughty that provides great views along with the Double Hill, which provides one with a little elevated view of the surrounding area. Another interesting place of visit is the Judd Bay. The other places of interest are the Fowler Reservoir Dam and the Orcas Island Golf Course, which is a nice place for golf enthusiasts who might not want to miss golf while touring the region.
One may also visit several neighboring beaches in the region. Some of these are the Kimple Beach, Green Bank, Chin-Chin-Tse-Tung Beach, Crescent Beach, and the Terrill Beach. All these beaches are within 2 to 6 miles from North Beach.

Best period to visit

The month of July is considered to be the best time to visit the beaches of this region.

Access

To reach the beach one will have to leave the US Highway 5 and take the Bow Hill Road, which travels west onto the Bayview Edison Road. This takes one to the Samish Island Road. The final turn is onto the Roney Road that takes one to the beach.
Alternately one can exit from the US Highway 5 onto the State Highway 11. This highway meets the Bow Hills Road near the Edison Station.
